INTO YOUR HEAD

It all began in Sweden. I got introduced to my new company and friend Patrik Berger. We were meeting in Stockholm for the first time. It was in November in 2008 I think. We started to listen to my demos, wrote new parts and songs together. There have always been people who had an influence on me in one or another way so it was great to work with a producer who is an instrumentalist and creative composer at the same time.. So where does it start and when does it end?

Patrik built a nice beat, his mate Pele came by and dropped a line. I started to play some keys and improvised the lyrics. I‘ve never seen someone like Berger putting an arrangement up just like that. I don‘t remember exactly how it was put together but in the evening the song was done - more or least.

In autumn of 2008 Patrik came to Berlin. We rented a studio called Popschutz in Friedrichshain. I was working endlessly on the lyric. It was kind of fragile, almost loosing every power when there was just one line that was not in it‘s right place. I found inspiration in a relationship I once had. We‘re happy to have found something that felt so right.

The part I enjoyed the most was working out the sounds. Sounds can be important to give a song more deepness and get it into a certain direction. I was looking for the right balance between a real catchy pop-song and something that is still edgy and worth to listen to over and over again. So we kept on looking for different synthesizers and effects. I was busy connecting and tweeking the gear while Patrik was running the compressors and making a damn good job in recording it.

After the song was finished I started to work with the director Frank who shot the video for Into Your Head.
